Stuart Spence

Stuart Spence is a seasoned leader with a diverse financial and operational management background in the exploration & production, engineering and construction, oilfield products and services, and professional services sectors. For more than thirty years, he has held significant roles in public and private capital backed companies, shaping company strategy, implementing operational efficiencies and driving transformation, coupled with extensive mergers & acquisitions and financing activities.
Education & honors
Stuart holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Stirling in Scotland, is an associate member of the UK Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and earned leadership certifications from the Columbia Business School and Harvard Business School.
Job experience
Stuart leads Spence & Co., the management consultancy arm of The Spence Family Office, which manages a robust portfolio of investments for the Spence family. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at McDermott International. Prior to McDermott, he was Vice President of Artificial Lift at Halliburton Company. His career includes significant roles at Global Oilfield Services, Green Rock Energy LLC, Vetco International Ltd, Wood Group Plc, Schlumberger and Total. Stuart is also Chairman of the Board at S&B Engineers & Constructors.
