Jon Benavides
Jon Benavides is an experienced oil and gas professional with the entirety of his career spanning various operations, engineering, and field leadership roles throughout the Permian Basin and Houston. As a member of the management team since New Height’s inception, Jon has been instrumental in building and growing the company. Prior to New Height, Jon worked for Occidental Petroleum and Callon Petroleum, where he served in a range of positions including Facility Engineer, Production Engineer, Production Foreman, and Workover Supervisor. His broad operational and technical background provides a well-rounded understanding of upstream production and asset management. Jon currently serves on the Board of Directors of New Height Energy and contributes to the company’s strategic direction and long-term growth.
Education & honors
Jon earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University in 2013 and later completed a Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University, further strengthening his technical and business leadership expertise.
Job experience
Jon’s career spans more than 11 years with Occidental Petroleum and Callon Petroleum, where he has served in engineering, production, and field leadership roles. His experience across facility engineering, production operations, and workover supervision provides broad operational expertise throughout the Delaware Basin.
